N.E.R.T. training available at Fisherman's Wharf
The Fisherman's Wharf Community Benefit District will be offering free Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) training courses, as part of its PIERsafe program. We would like to encourage as many community members as possible to show up for the two days of emergency preparedness education. NERT training will take place on two consecutive (you must attend both days) Wednesdays, April 25th and May 2nd. Both classes will be held at the Radisson Hotel Fisherman’s Wharf – Marine Room, from 8:30am – 5:30pm. Coffee will be offered in the morning.
NERT is a free training program for individuals, neighborhood groups and community-based organizations in San Francisco, created in direct response to the aftermath that followed the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. Through this program, individuals will learn the basics of personal preparedness and prevention. The training also includes hands-on disaster skills that will help individuals respond to a personal emergency as well as act as members of a neighborhood response team.
You can register for this class on the S.F.F.D. website.
