The Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC) holds the America's Cup as trustee, and defends the trophy against the challenger selected in the Louis Vuitton Cup Regatta.

Fisherman's Wharf is located mid way along the race course which will stretch from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge.
