Hidden in plain sight just a few steps off the main thoroughfare is a little known Fisherman’s Wharf landmark: The Fisherman's and Seamen's memorial Chapel is a touching tribute to the generations of San Franciscans who have dedicated their lives to the sea. A simple, but elegant wood-framed structure located across from Pier 45 overlooking fishing boat basin, the chapel stands as a memorial to the fishermen and seamen who have braved cold waves, blinding fog and howling winds. It was built between 1978 and 1981 on the former site of an old Coast Guard building. Venue Location: Tucked away from all the main thoroughfares at the wharf, the Chapel is a non-denominational space that is ideal for small wedding and gatherings. Address: Pier 45
