Event Description: Wharf Fest returns to San Francisco’s iconic waterfront neighborhood. For the seventh year in a row, Fisherman’s Wharf invites Bay Area locals to come enjoy the neighborhood after the crowds of visitors have subsided but before the fabulous fall weather fades away.

Cheers & Chowder: At the most delicious part of the day, the Chowder Competition, Fisherman’s Wharf restaurants will compete for the title of the Best Chowder at Fisherman’s Wharf. New for this year, the Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District has expanded Wharf Fest to include wine and beer tasting from noon to 3 p.m. to compliment the delicious chowders.

Benefit Concert: A brand-new component of Wharf Fest is live music from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a concert in support of the Fisherman’s Wharf Homeless Outreach Program, Wharf Cares, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Additionally, food and beverages from Wharf businesses can be purchased during the entire event from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.

FAQ

Q: What do I get for buying a Chowder Competition ticket?
A: Your Chowder Competition ticket will include individual tasting tickets for each restaurant. There are typically 10-12 restaurants that compete. There will be one ticket for each restaurant and a bonus ticket that can be used at any chowder booth.  Each ticket will give you a 2 oz. sample of chowder. Some restaurants will offer a bonus chowder flavor for your the tasting ticket. With one Chowder Competition pass, you can likely expect to receive approximately 14 2oz. chowder samples. 28 oz is equivalent to a very large bowl of chowder and will likely be enough for your lunch. You will also receive a ballot to cast your vote for the Best Chowder at Fisherman's Wharf.

Q: How will I know who won?
A: The winning chowder restaurants will be announced at the event and via our social media pages Twitter,  @theWharfSF,  and on our Facebook page at 3:30 p.m. at the event.

Q: Can the ticket be split between two people?
A: No.

Q: Can I bring my children?
A: Children can enjoy the ungated street fair portion of the event and the activity area but the gated festival area (chowder, beer, wine, benefit concert) is 21+.

Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Your dog can come to the ungated street fair portion of the event but the gated festival area (chowder, beer, wine, benefit concert) will not allow dogs.

Q: What if it rains?
A: This event is rain or shine. Tickets will not be refunded based on weather conditions. 

Q: What is the appropriate attire?
A: Bring sun protection and layers in case it gets chilly. Wear comfortable shoes, not heels, as the festival is a long day and will mostly be on pavement. You can bring a blanket to lay on the turf area.

ABOUT THE FISHERMAN’S WHARF COMMUNITY BENEFIT DISTRICT

The Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District (FWCBD.com), a nonprofit organization, was founded in November of 2005 by the business and property owners of the San Francisco neighborhood. The district is funded through an annual assessment for 15 years from the property owners. The purpose of the Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District is to preserve and enhance its vast San Francisco waterfront landscape and multi-cultural heritage, while integrating modern efficiencies to enrich the experience of visitors from both near and far.
