The Fisherman's and Seamen's Memorial Chapel, one of Mason's favorite little-known SF spots.

Former Groupon CEO Andrew Mason has announced his latest venture, Detour, a company that creates audio city tours for the iPhone. We asked the newly minted travel insider for a preview of his favorite spots in San Francisco.

MASON'S PICKS:

The Fisherman's and Seamen's Memorial Chapel

"Hidden on a pier behind fishing boats, the chapel offers a slice of life for one of SF's most longstanding communities. Inside, you'll see plaques with lists of names, in remembrance of those lost at sea."

Kayo Books

"This nostalgic bookstore has an incredible collection of vintage pulp fiction from the 1940s through the 1970s. Check out the cabinet of '40s outer space comic books."

Calhoun Terrace

"Walk up and over Telegraph Hill on Union Street, and you'll dead-end at Calhoun Terrace, where you'll find one of the most striking views of the Bay you'll ever see."
