SF Business Times - Olympic bid could help push S.F.'s Central Subway to Fisherman's Wharf

A new study commissioned by San Francisco finds that extending the $1.59 billion Central Subway to Fisherman's Wharf would draw thousands of new riders. Construction is underway on the Central Subway's 1.7 mile route, which is now slated to go from the Caltrain station at Fourth and King Streets to Chinatown and open in 2019. The proposed extension project would construct a North Beach station and extend the tracks to one or two stations at Fisherman's Wharf.
