**PRESS RELEASE**

• On Monday: Muni service will operate on a Sunday schedule.
• Parking meters and seven day street sweeping will be enforced citywide on theholiday. Residential parking permits and Monday-Friday daytime street sweeping and commuter towaway will not be enforced.
• Meters on The Embarcadero and at Fisherman’s Wharf, are enforced seven days perweek throughout the year, except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
• Hazards are always subject to ticketing and towing.

• The Blue Angels will practice on Friday from 12:30 to 4 p.m.
• From Friday through Sunday, the Parade of Ships, two air shows and ship tours will be held to celebrate the U.S. Navy Fleet Week. These events will impact the Fisherman’s Wharf area and the Marina District.
• The celebration will begin on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Parade of Ships and continue on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 4 p.m. with the air show. Ship tours will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Monday. A crowd of over 300,000 is expected each weekend day.
• Jefferson Street between Hyde Street and westerly terminus will be closed from 5 a.m., Friday to 6 p.m., Sunday.
• To accommodate the crowds for these events, SFMTA will provide supplemental service on the following lines and routes during the time specified on Saturday and Sunday:
  • From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • F Market & Wharves line will be supplemented by F-line shuttle to and from between stops at 11th/Market streets and Powell/Beach streets
  • From Noon to 7 p.m.
    • 8X Bayshore Express route (Outbound Only) will be supplemented between stops at Kearny/Pacific streets and City College.
  • From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • 22 Fillmore route will be supplemented to and from between stops at Fillmore/Bay streets and Fillmore/McAllister streets.
    • 28 19th Avenue route will be supplemented to and from between stops at Fort Mason and San Francisco State University.
    • 47 Van Ness route will be supplemented to and from stops between North Point Street/Van Ness Avenue and South Van Ness/Mission/Market streets.
    • 108 Treasure Island route will be supplemented to and from between Treasure Island and Transbay Terminal.
    • Traffic congestion and disruption of transit service will be expected in the northern section of the city after the Fleet Week Air Shows.
  • From 3 to 7 p.m., each day, Saturday and Sunday, with an exception to buses, taxis and bicycles, southbound Polk Street between Bay and Union streets will be closed to traffic. Local access will be allowed.
• Traffic coming into San Francisco is anticipated to be congested. Parking will be limited. BART, Ferries, AC Transit and SamTrans are alternate transportation options. Parking at BART stations is available on Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, please visitwww.511.org and www.BART.gov.
• The annual Italian Heritage Day Parade (see below for more details) will also take place on Sunday and the parade will start at 12:30 p.m. at Jefferson and Powell streets. It is anticipated that traffic through the Fisherman’s Wharf area will be congested.
• SFMTA encourages event participants to take public transit, taxis, bike or walk to the event.
• For riders who want to transfer at BART station or Market Street from Chinatown, please take the 10 Townsend or 12 Folsom/Pacific Muni route from Broadway Street to the Montgomery Station or take 1 California from Stockton Street to Drumm Street with a short walk to the Embarcadero Station.

• On Sunday: The annual Italian Heritage Day Parade will be held in North Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf beginning at 12:30 p.m. from Jefferson and Powell streets and proceed to Washington Square. The parade should last 2.5 hours and 150,000 people are expected. For event details, please visit www.sfcolumbusday.org.
• The parade formation will require the following street closures, beginning at 8 a.m.:
  • Powell Street between Chestnut and Beach streets
  • Stockton Street between Bay and Beach streets
  • Beach Street between Mason Street and Grant Avenue
  • North Point Street between Mason Street and The Embarcadero
  • Francisco Street between Stockton and Mason streets
  • Greenwich Street between Powell and Columbus streets
• The parade route will begin on Jefferson Street at Mason Street, proceed west on Jefferson Street, south on Leavenworth Street, south on Columbus Avenue, south on Stockton Street, east on Vallejo Street, north on Columbus Avenue, north on Stockton Street, east on to Filbert Street and past the review stands at Washington Square Park. Parade units will disburse on Powell Street. Traffic along the parade route will be closed until the parade clears.
