Celebrate the first 2011 San Francisco Sunday Streets Event and Family Fair on March 20, 2011. From 11:00am to 4:00pm, adults and children of all ages will be able to bike or walk along The Embarcadero and head to Fisherman's Wharf. In celebration of Sunday Streets, Fisherman's Wharf will be holding a Family Fitness Fair at Jefferson & Powell Streets from 11:00am to 4:00pm. A variety of activities are planned for adults and children alike.
Highlights of the Fitness Fair include:
- Rock Climbing Wall - Children will be able to test their skills on the 4-person rock climbing wall.
- Super Slide - Perfect for all children to enjoy.
- Segway Obstacle Course – Adults are invited to take a trial run with a Segway — a two-wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicle – for everyone over the age of 12 years.
- YMCA Kids Fitness Activities - Your hosts from the Chinatown YMCA have great family interactive activities planned throughout the day.
- Telegraph Hill Neighbor Center - Zumba lessons for everyone! Learn the latest fitness craze at the fair.
- San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department - With yoga and more, Parks and Recreation Department leaders will be organizing fitness activities for the whole family.
- Roller Skating - Join the fun as we dance and exercise on roller skates.
- Sardine Family Circus - See the most remarkable entertainment from a talented group of performers that will make you marvel at their feats.
- Fisherman's Wharf Welcome Booth - Visit the merchants of Fisherman's Wharf and win great prizes for all children at their Wheel of Fortune. Plus visit with some of the Wharf's very own mascots.
- Maritime Museum Association Information Booth - Learn more about the historic Maritime Museum, USS Jeremiah O'Brien and the USS Pampanito.
- Bike Valet - Bring your bike down on The Embarcadero and we will provide free valet service at the fair.
For more Sunday Streets fun along The Embarcadero, visit PIER 39 from 11:00am – 4:00pm. From 11:00am – 1:00pm all the fun takes place in PIER 39's Entrance Plaza. You'll be entertained by some of San Francisco's world-famous street performers. Then, put on your dancing shoes and sing along to your favorite hits from 2–4pm. If you bring your bike, PIER 39 will provide a bike valet service from 11am – 4:30pm. The bike valet service is provided by the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and will be located between Hard Rock Cafe and Aquarium of the Bay.
