Where should you go see the best fireworks displays in the San Francisco Bay Area? Fisherman's Wharf is San Francisco's premier spot to celebrate America's Independence Day holiday. Visitors can typically enjoy free, fabulous entertainment throughout the Wharf, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over San Francisco Bay.

Enjoy FREE music at Aquatic Park beginning at 4:00pm to 9:15pm. The highlight of the day will be the City of San Francisco Fireworks display viewed from Aquatic Park and PIER 39 at approximately 9:30 p.m. The fireworks show will be produced by Pyro Spectaculars by Souza.

On July 4th the Aquarium will be open until 11:00 p.m. Stop by after the fireworks so you can avoid the crowds departing the wharf and experience the thousands of animals at the aquarium including the nocturnal Giant Pacific Octopus and Chinchillas!

PIER 39 celebrates Independence Day with fun and excitement for the whole family. From Noon - 1pm, enjoy the cool sounds of Ruby Summer, A Beach Pop Band. From 2 - 4:30pm, rock out with Club 90 with hits from the 90's. Then, dance the night away from 6 - 9:30pm with Tainted Love playing all your favorites from the 80's. When the sun goes down around 9:30pm, stick around for The City of San Francisco's spectacular fireworks display over the Bay!

On Monday, July 4, Caltrain will operate a regular Sunday schedule, with extra southbound service after Independence Day fireworks.
Following the fireworks in San Francisco, the first special train will depart from the San Francisco station at 11:15 p.m., or when full, and express to San Carlos, and then make all local weekend stops to the San Jose Diridon station. Two other special trains will leave at 11:30 p.m. and 12:01 a.m., respectively, and make all local weekend stops to San Jose
Diridon. The last regularly scheduled train will depart at 9:15 p.m. and make all local weekend stops to San Jose Diridon.
One-way tickets or Day passes can be purchased at the ticket vending machines at the stations before boarding. Customers using their Clipper® card must remember to tag on before boarding and tag off at San Francisco. Caltrain is a Proof-of-Payment system; customers without tickets are subject to citation.
For your convenience, discounted train tickets are available by advance purchase for groups of 25 or more. Save 15 percent over single-ride tickets. For information about placing a group ticket order, visit www.caltrain.com/grouptravel.
Caltrain would like to remind customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on trains departing San Francisco beginning at 9 p.m. on special event evenings.
